An exciting, interesting, and odd real-life story of an American's overseas adventures and the accompanying suffering and joy that led him to his present philosophy of health and psychology based on the reality of human biology. From a pilgrimage to Italy when he was 8 years-old to life in Europe as a teenager to a ten-year quest in Asia as an adult clinician and martial artist, he, like others before him, is able to peer through the massive veil of illusion and deceit so prevalent in much of the world today concerning health, self-empowerment, and biology. Dr Sweeney's unique education, background and life-experience allows him to use psychology, medical research, and Oriental medical philosophy along with raw food diets and research is obviously effective for many of his patients. Helpful case study on depression, migraines, pain, anxiety, ADHD, and pregnancy.

Paul Sweeney D.O.M. is a licensed Acupuncture Physician, NCCAOM Diplomate, Certified in Pediatric Mental Health, and a 4th Dan martial artist "Black belt". Being raised by parents, both of whom were western medical professionals, made him well aware of the pros and cons of western medicine. After finishing his formal undergraduate and graduate education in New England, he spent ten years in various Asian clinics, hospitals, temples, and martial-art dojo trying to use his understanding of people, microbiology, Oriental medicine/philosophy, and martial-arts to understand the nature of mental and physical imbalances and illness and how to address it. Sweeney Sensei now teaches, lectures, and does clinical work centering on Oriental medical theory, acupuncture, homeopathy, martial-arts, raw foods, and mental health. Paul takes special pride in being able to use his singularly unique combination of experience and credentials to work with children in various capacities. (This book started out as chapter hand-outs for his patients and grew from there. The first 2-3 chapters were reluctantly added upon the advice of his agent.)
